New cartridgres for 1400

I noticed the cartridges for the 1400/1430 are new and improved since the last time I ordered some. The description indicates they are more rigid in their design.

I was wondering if there was more to it than that? (just curiosity - I will be ordering a new set of carts. in the next month or so)
