I have one cartridge (PK) that is filled with Piezo Flush. I’m having a problem with the VM cartridge not showing anything on Nozzle checks. I have tried several Print Head Cleanings (with no luck) and manually cleaned the print head with Piezo Flush on a paper towel (after watching some videos about how to do that). Still no joy.
I would like to take the Piezo Flush cartridge and swap its PK chip with the chip from the VM cartridge. I’m quite worried about damaging the VM cartridge, so I want to be sure of the proper way to pop them off and on. It’s been years since I’ve had to do anything like this, so I really don’t remember the proper steps.
In case it matters (which it shouldn’t, since I’m only talking about cartridges) my printer is a P600.
Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give me!
~~Bonnie
The best way to administer PiezoFlush is with the INITIAL FILL. To bring PiezoFlush to your head using cleaning operations can permanently burn out the print head.
You can read how to do the INITIAL FILL on any of our PiezoFlush product pages.
Thank you for the prompt reply, Jon! All my cartridges and chips are yours; I haven’t used any Epson inks in years! =0)
So, if I carefully pop the chips off of the VM cartridge and the Flush cartridge; put the VM chip on the Flush cartridge; do what “I need to do” then replace the VM chip back on the VM cartridge, the VM chip should still be OK, right?
As far as what “I need to do”, I probably have two options: the Initial Fill or use QTR (which I’ve used before but I’m going to have read up on the QTR process again, it’s been years). I know that with QTR, I can run it so that it only uses ink from the one channel, VM. I don’t know (or don’t remember) how the Initial Fill works … can that be run only on the one VM channel?
Thanks for your help, Jon. I may have more questions once I get started on this. We’ll see …
Removing the chips do not in any way affect their count or functions and they are interchangeable as long as the chip is matched to the color position.
