Those orange tabs

Newbie question about the orange tabs marked "Pull’: I found the line in the manual about leaving them on while filling the cartridge and then taking them out when pressurizing it.

Do they go back on again during refilling (or perhaps storage), or are they, after the initial fill, a throw-away item?

Keep them around. You need to put them back on if you are storing the cartridges out of the printer. (lets say if the printer is sitting with flush carts and your ink carts are out of the printer).
