Snapping base plate on refillable 750 ml cartridges

Trying to finish preparing a 750 ml cartridge with flush to address a hopelessly clogged LC print head. I got to the point of putting the chip in place, but for the life of me, I can’t “snap” the chip baseplate (“down”/ in place) as described in the refillable cartridges video. I don’t want to force anything in case there has been some redesign that does not require this. I am still not clear what it is supposed to accomplish anyway. Any help appreciated
