Shakin' the Carts

In the spirit of keeping my 7890 running well, is printing accomplishing the same thing as gently shaking the carts to avoid pigment settlement? I have been shaking the carts about once per week - do I need to do that if i make a print? Would printing be enough to stir up the carts?

Regards,

Ralph

Hi Ralph~

Pigment ink settles when left sitting still, which occurs in both cartridges as well as the printer’s internal ink system, so cartridges should be agitated on a regular basis (every 1-2 weeks is fine), to maintain in-suspension ink in the carts, and we recommend using the printer on a weekly basis to keep ink flowing thru the lines/dampers/head to keep ink in suspension in the lines, and also to keep the head moist.

Best regards and happy printing~ Dana
