Just purchased a new Epson LK cart (T54X7) and will need to update the firmware to install.
The update is NN002N6 dated 07/10/23
I am planning on upgrading to the Cone Color system but don’t want to be locked out with this firmware update.
Wanted to know if this latest update with mess with using 3rd party inks?
thanks
Christopher
The new firmware reads EPSON dummy chips but at this point still reads the old smart chips. Ours are smart chips! So no problems yet!
That is a great relief, currently using Cone Color Pro in my two 3880s and wanted to possibly switch in my P6000. Are you limited to 10 total 750ml refills or unlimited?
Appreciate the response and keep up with the great products and service.
Christopher
10 total 750ml refills per position as you can not use the same chip serial number twice. There are 10 sets of numbers. We do offer a China Region main printer board for the P6000 that you would have to swap out yourself. There is a lot of dissassmbly to get to it but the China P6080 allows chip resetting and the costs at $1800 make sense if you envision printing through 36 750ml carts of ink. That’s the break even. It will insulate you against any chip shortages in the future. It takes us about 3 weeks to procure. It includes full set of carts, chips, and a chip resetter.
thank you again for the detailed response. Yes, that is a LOT of ink. At this stage this printer isn’t used nearly as often as the 3880’s so I don’t really feel the pinch of buy the P6000 carts. which I typically only purchase the 350ml size. I DO dislike spending $80 for 80ml of OEM ink. So, I will continue with this arrangement until those 3880’s give up the ghost.
all the best,
Christopher
