R3000 old refillable cartridge not recognized

I have a set of battery refill cartridges in my R3000. Now the printer is not recognizing, nor am I able to manually reset the yellow cartridge-- which has a good amount of ink left. I’m not sure whether to buy a battery or just get the new chips that cannot be manually reset.

Hello, If I was you I replace all the old chips with a new set. That is what I did and everything has worked well for over a year. Don’t forget to top off all cartridges when you do the chip replacement.

Surely you’d try replacing the battery first? They don’t last all that long, perhaps around a year.
