QTR print tool with Mac

We just updated all our old equipment changing from PC to Mac and from Epson 1400 to 1430. We are using Photoshop CS5 and just beginning to restart printing. We are using Piezography warm neutral K6. Our initial printing has been done with the QTR print tool with the QTR 1430 driver since we read that the newer Mac OS 10.11 alters the gray if you print directly with photoshop to the QTR driver. Does anyone have any experience printing via both methods with a Mac? If so are the prints comparable or does the QTR Print Tool really make a significant difference? I must say so far the Mac is a slick, fun machine , but the PC is more versatile. (using older programs and equipment). Thank you.
