Printer not connected

Hi
My printer is not working:
the printer & scanners in system preferences has: epson stylus pro 3800 with a green light and idle
Quad3800-k7 paused default
my quad 3800 -k7 -1Job : the printer is not connected
under job
paused-1 page
what am I doing worng? restarted jobs, computer, printer reinstalled printer driver, quad driver and did the 3800 install
