Preparing a printer to sit for medium term

Hi there,

We are thinking about putting either an Epson 9900 (or 9880) to sit for long term. For that, we intend to fill them up with Piezo Flush. Our questions are:

  • How should we proceed if the idea is long term storage?
Epson 9900: One init fill of piezoflush and leave? Two init fills?
Epson 9880: Three power cleans and leave? Different?

  • Should we make sure there are no clogs in the head before filling the printer and leaving it there? Or can we assume that as the printer is going to be left sitting with piezo flush the liquid is going to “dissolve” the eventual clogs over time?

  • Should we clean the printer overall prior to long term storage? (capping station, wipers, etc)

Thanks again!

Rafael
