Piezography for Canon?

I just came across this article from 2011 which indicated that a Canon Piezography system was in the works.

Jon had told me that print head heat is an issue, but I’m wondering if this is an ongoing project.

Any chance that this (or any non-Epson system) is still in the pipeline? Or has this project been shelved for good?
