Some time ago I purchased a decoder board but then began to use the printer so little – an occasional greeting card or small pic – that I never got around to installing it. Now I see that there’s a software solution. Would you recommend purchasing the software – $60, meh – or that I go ahead and use the board? Seems like the software would be easier, less to mess with. Thanks for your advice.
I installed the “chipless solution firmware” last fall and haven’t regretted it. Just have to keep an eye on the ink cartridges as the levels will always show as full. You also have to keep an eye on the maintenance tank.
