Hello All,
Made a BIG mistake yesterday in that I let the VLM cart run dry when doing a large batch of prints. I noticed by the second print. Refilled cart and primed it. VLM channel clear with nozzle check. I have run a couple of clean cycles and test prints with still nothing showing in VLM channel.
What are my next steps?
this is a great printer with the Cone inks and carts, a real workhorse. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I need to get this bad-boy up and running SOON.
thanks,
christopher
Hi Christopher,
Printing or power cleaning with air in the print head can actually cause damage to that specific channel on your printer. Essentially, it can burn it out.
The safest and most effective way to fix this is by performing an INITIAL FILL procedure. This is a special function found within the Epson Service Adjustment Utility for your printer model. You can find this utility available for download at 2manuals.com.
Just a heads-up, this utility is Windows-only. However, if you’re on a Mac, you can download a free trial of Parallels for Mac, which installs Windows on your OS X system.
Let me know if you need any more help with this!

You can’t trigger an INIT-FILL from the printer panel menu? It does one when you first unbox the machine.
No you cannot run the INITIAL FILL from the LCD Panel on this model.
When the printer is new it is engineered to run it automatically the first time it encounters chips.
You would need the same utility that runs the INITIAL FILL to flash the ROM of the printer to return it to new.
So might as well just run the INTITIAL FILL.

Hello All,
My P600 is back and in good order. Initially had problem with cart recognition. then remembered this link:
R3000 and P600 Refillable Cartridge Instructions
successful.
then the software, was able to navigate the 2manuals website for the proper service manual.
downloaded zip file and extracted to my C: drive, opened app and executed the ink charge function. After about 10 minutes of noises, I ran the nozzle check from the program and perfect.
so folks, it really does work. And remember, just don’t let the carts run dry.
