New P600 goes 'offline' and prints a report when laptop awakes, USB

I just started using a new-from-box P600, have Cone Color inks to put in but started with the included OEM ink carts to just get some promo sheets printed and sent out.

The printer is connected by USB to my laptop, as is my 3880. When the Windows10 laptop ‘wakes up’ in the morning, the P600 insists on printing a status report. I can’t find how to tell it to not so that. Any one know how?

Also, and this is worse, the P600 keeps going into OFFLINE mode. I can’t correct that except a reboot of the laptop, which takes forever. Previously I re-installed the entire driver and it seemed fixed, printed 20 13x19 sheets. But it has done it again, now.

Any help on these issues would be appreciated.

Hum, there was a recent Win10 forced update that is causing many users trouble, one being issues with PrintSpooler. Maybe that’s the cause of my printer troubles? It must have installed about the same time I put the new P600 in service.

Or, you know, not. Computers keep us guessing, sometimes.
