New cartridge not recognized

Hello, new to the forum as of today.
My wife purchased a refillable cartridge system for Epson R3000 for my Christmas present. I filled all the carts with InkThrift PRO dye inks this morning and my printer does not recognize the black MK cartridge. Everything else is fine.
I have removed the MK cart and reinstalled several times, each with the same result (red X on the R3000 LED display and an error on my computer screen). The chip looks good and it is tightly set.

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing what sounds to be a chip problem with your new MK refillable cart. I have requested a replacement MK chip be sent to you, as I suspect this chip may not be working as it should be (like all the others are).
