Magenta 3880 Cartridge error

I checked to make sure I had ordered the right thing. This was a new install and the printer recognized all the refillables but this one. Tried different Magenta chip and reseating to be sure it was in correctly and contacts touching, no luck. Epson chip is OK-works on OEM cart if place back on.
