[Help Request] cleaning 3880

Hi there

I have a couple of questions about head cleaning on 3880.

When a head clogs I normally use a process others have suggested. Wet Bounty with Windex, move head over the Bounty and let sit over night. Normally works… but not always perfectly.

Then someone suggested your video

I tried that but it actually partially clogged every single head. Not sure if my technique was wrong but that definitely did not work. Is there a trick to that?

I ran my nozzle check right after doing that head clean method.

Also, the video mentioned replacing the dampers and that with some Epsons you can replace the dampers themselves while in others you have to replace the entire assembly, but it didn’t say which models did which. I did find (I think) both dampers and assy for 3880 online. This part seems to be damper only: https://www.ebay.com/itm/265587382360?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818143230%26meid%3Df7c64d4c6bad44dd82ca35192007ad35%26pid%3D101224%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D255427306970%26itm%3D265587382360%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWeb%26brand%3DEpson&_trksid=p2047675.c101224.m-1

Does that seem correct, and would it make sense to just replace the dampers rather than the entire assy? A lot cheaper.

Thanks

Dear Dirk, as this is a general maintenance question and not a help ticket type request I’m posting it publicly so others can answer as well.

You need the entire “ink supply unit” and this is available only from Chinese manufacturers on Alibaba now.
