I unplugged the Epson 3800 network connection and plugged it in to the USB port. Parallels reports it as an Epson Pro 3800, but then states there are no printers to be used. I’m curious if anyone had similar problems.
Did you install the windows printer driver for it?
Well that is sort of my question. When I installed as a USB attached device on the Mac Studio, it shows up on MacOS as a USB attached Epson 3800 printer. When I look into Windows on Parallels, I see two Epson 3800. One of them is reported as model Microsoft IPP Class Driver. The other one is reported as “Driver Unavailable” I am not a Microsoft or Parallels user.
I tried that… there are no drivers listed after you press go. Do you see the same?
So WIN11 only installs a generic driver for the 3800. EPSON does not offer the full driver past Windows 10.
You may need to get support for the utility from 2manuals.com is that is where you purchased it. Troubleshooting Windows printer connectivity is not my strength to be sure… as I use Windows sparingly and we do not have any 3800s running to which to connect on our end.
I would not though attempt to install the 3800 as a network printer with an ethernet cable. USB cable only while you are trying to do what you are doing.
Let me ask you this… is there another way to do the initial flush w/o the windows program. I see that there is a power cleaning procedure under Maintenance. Can I run this multiple times as a substitute for the initial flush? Is it as good?
Yes you can run 3-4 Power Cleans
I looked your purchase up in our system and you purchased the PiezoFlush kit for the 3800
https://shop.inkjetmall.com/PiezoFlush-kit-for-Epson-Pro-3800.html
Just under the Buy Button is the instructions for your printer model on INITIAL FILL and it indicates 3 Power Cleans. But I encourage you to read the other instructions on using PiezoFlush, etc…
Kind regards,
Jon
