Error 1412

Greetings,

We just encountered error code 1412 on one of our printers. After some google research we found out it’s a “pump life failure”.

We expected that the pump would fail sooner or later as the printer is just over 3 years old and has been giving us a 0040 error for some time.

We were wondering if replacing the pump cap assembly would require an epson tech to reset the pump count number via software. We feel comfortable doing the actual replacement but we are not sure if it would actually be something that we could finish on our own.

Any help / advice would be very helpful.

Thanks!

-TCD

p.s. Any clue on what pump exchange in maintenance mode actually does?

Your best solution to solve this problem would be to purchase the Epson Repair Manual from 2manuals.com for your printer model and look up the error code, then follow the diagnostics.

We have all the manuals already but it is not giving us the info we are looking for. We’re trying to find out if anyone knows if the epson certified software is needed to reset the counter.

-Thanks!
