Erroneously Filled Cartridge -- How to Empty & Salvage Ink & Clean

I mistakenly used a fresh new light cyan cartridge thinking it was a fresh new cyan cartridge for the Epson R2400 printer. The result is I have a light cyan cartridge filled with cyan ink.

What is the best way to salvage the cyan ink and then cleaning the cartridge? Or do I just take my lickings and buy a new light cyan empty cartridge?

Distilled water is the way to clean. I don’t recommend re-using the ink after it’s in the cart though. It’s a messy affair, you need a priming syringe to get the ink out.

Considering the low amount of ink I recommend just getting a new cart.
