Epson Ecotank Hacking (type 542)

Has anyone used alternative pigment inks on one of the Epson Ecotank systems (Type 542 ink)? I’m interested in doing high volume black and white prints for perfect binding into magazines (using another hack method), and less in exhibition quality-anything. Still, archival quality does matter.

I believe it’s just a straight-shot CMYK system with a “black” ink.
