Epson 9900 platen porus pad replacement

So, I just bought a 9900 and I’m cleaning it up and three or four of the platen pads need to be replaced. I have seen the replacement pads and they seem to just slide in but want to be sure before I go pulling things out - do they just slide out and the new ones slide in?

I have a service manual and the only mention says not to touch them. But they must be replacable if replacements are available.

Any advice? Thank you!

Thank you Jon. I just bought a 9900 and am in the process of cleaning it up and converting to refillables. Ordered my first batch of inks for it this weekend. Have a great week!
