Epson 4900 ink carts Chips

i am using my 4900 for Piezography.

4900 says some of my carts need to be replaced.

I tried resetting with paperclip but doesnt work.

Do I need to buy new chips? Do they go bad?

After reviewing your order history, I see you purchased your 4900 refillable carts in 2013. The chip style on the carts you’re using have batteries on the back, and the batteries have a limited life of about one year.
