Hello. I have an Epson 4880 (17" printer). When I turn the printer on, the print head shutters as though I was going to move as usual, but stops and a message appears on the LCD screen saying “Unlock Print Head”. The green unlock tab is definitely in the unlock position. This began after I replaced an ink damper. I thought it might be a damaged encoder strip, so I replaced it. No change. I replaced the print head ribbon cable. No change.
Do you have any insight as to how the unlock tab might not be working? Thanks very much.
