Epson 3880 gently used but sitting idle for 6 years

I’d like to resurrect a 3880. Assuming channels clogged. Don’t want to invest in all inks unless I’m confident it works. Is running cleaning solution thru all channels an option? Do I buy empty carts and cleaning solution and fill and test all channels?
