Hi Everyone,
Newbie to Piezo here, with a personal goal to be able to produce prints on my printer that kinda sorta look like platinum palladium prints, but also create digital negatives so I can create real ones. So fast and good enough, vs slow and “authentic”.
I am converting a 3880 printer I just bought to Piezo… Following 3880 cleaning instructions on YouTube, done, much better. Now I want to make sure the lines are purged of all prior ink before putting in the Piezo Pro inks. I have one set of new carts for the inks, a separate set of carts for Piezo Flush. With the Piezo Flush in a set of carts, I have run two power cleans, one for Photo Black and one for the Matte Black inks.
My questions are this…
(a) How many flushes should I do for each ink mode?
(b) Should I run three sets of two flushes each (photo, matte) over 48 - 72 hours to try to soften and get rid of all the old gunk in the lines? That is, letting Piezo Flush remain in the lines and head in order to soften and remove gunk?
(c) Should each of the lines be clear / pink once the flushing has been accomplished? And if so, should I repeat the procedure until the lines are clear/pink externally?
My assumption is the lines themselves out of the factory are clear, and they take on the color that runs through them, and that Piezo Flush will clear all this out? If my assumption is incorrect, please clarify?
Thank you,
Bob
