Epson 3880 cartridge draining

Hi,

I need to drain a cartridge.
Apparently, someone put photo black in the light light black!
They didn’t put it in the printer, thank goodness.
I would just like to drain the cartridge, clean it and move on.
How can I do this without making too much of a mess.

Do you have a large syringe that came with your kit?

You can use a priming tip and this syringe to suck ink out the same way you originally primed the cartridge.

Otherwise, open the fill hole and let drip over a container in the sink. The fill with distilled and drain back the same way.

I did try that, it didn’t syphon out as well as I thought it might.
I’ll try a different syringe, maybe it will seal better.
