Epson 3880 and latest Mac Mini communication error

I am having persistent “communication error” notifications In the Epson Printer Utility 4 running the latest Version 10.90 of the Epson Stylus Pro 3880 driver on my new Mac mini. I have tried a different USB B to USB A cable and have also connected my USB B to USB A cable into an Apple USB B to USB C adaptor. I have re-downloaded the 3880 print driver and reloaded the 3880 into System Pref > Printers & Scanners. I have not removed the Epson LFP Remote Panel 2 software and reloaded that. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Received new USB B to USB A cable today. Communication error resolved and was able to print. Must have been something incompatible with the old USB B to USB A cable.
