Draining 3880 carts

I want to drain my 3880 carts now that my R2000 is up and running. It looks like the way to do it is via the nozzle rather than the fill hole. Is that correct and are there any gotchas to watch for? I assume that I will do the same to flush the carts once I have recovered the ink.

you could drain out the nozzle or let it dribble out the back - especially if you hold the exit port open with the priming tube… then use a little distilled, shake, and then drain it again.
