ConeColor in P600 - do I have the right refill carts?

I recently put a new P600 in service as a color machine, so I decided to use up the initial Epson carts before installing the refill carts/Cone inks I bought from IJM. Finally the first slot needs replacing, so I carefully followed instructions, but forgot the size of the original Epson ink carts. The ones I bought are a “skyscraper” model? Do I have the wrong items?

That is the right item. Epson indicates their 30ml carts are empty when 25ml is used to prevent air from entering the ink lines. They allow a 3rd party 30ml cart to completely empty allowing air in the lines. The only fix for that is the Windows only INITIAL FILL. So InkjetMall designed a 60ml cart with a 30ml 3rd party chip to prevent that.

But the ‘sticks up like a skyscraper’ thing–that’s a surprise. Your instructions mention taking off the cart caddy top/door, even provide the tool to fool the ‘closed’ switch. But the normal overall cover is supposed to do what? It does not look easy to remove.

I remember the extra-long carts for Piezo for a 24" Epson I had, they stuck OUT from the cart bay, not interfering with normal use. This P600 thing is not so easy. What do your customers do about this?

Not certain what you are asking… the cover can rest on the carts. Is that what you meant?

Rarely now do we have customers that get air into their systems. But with the 30ml it was nearly everyone before we realized that EPSON anti-3rd party was promoting that type of event. It was a bit discouraging.
