I recently bought a chip resetter for the Epson 7900. It has a USB cable attached to it. The chip resetters I have used in the past did not have any cable attached. Does this chip resetter need to be connected when using?
Yes, it needs to be connected to USB. Lithium batteries are not allowed in cargo areas because of new US regulations. The full restriction will go into effect this year. We are pre-empting the restriction by having these made powered by USB. Otherwise we would have to smuggle them in! yarrrrrr!
