Cartridge mixup

I apparently purchased two Light Black (T5807) cartridges for my Epson 3800, instead of ordering one of them for the Cyan ink.

Can I use this T5807 for Cyan ink and just change the name on the front label, or is the chip specific to Light Black?

Unfortunately, I started to put Light Black in in it. Can this ink be washed out before using the cartridge for Cyan ink?

Hi Lawrence~

I apologize for not responding sooner, we have been working with artists in our studio over the past few weeks, therefore I haven’t been on my computer as much as usual.

The 3800/3880 cartridges are all physically the same, but the chips control which position the printer accepts them in. These cartridges can not be completely rinsed, cleaned and dried to be refilled and used with another ink, so if you started filling this cart with LK ink, I recommend you get a new cartridge to use with Cyan ink to avoid contamination.

Please let me know if you have questions, or there’s anything else I can help you with.
Best regards~ Dana
