Can I use HDX inks for 7880

Hi, I am wondering if I can use HDX set (9 channel) for a 7880, on the website says:

"This ink set is highly recommended for Pro 7890, 9890 printers. " but doesn’t mention the 800 or 880 series.

Thanks! Right now I use my 7800 with cone color hd, so to upgrade do I have to switch all my colors or is the magenta the only one that changes? because all the rest seem to be the same. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for your help.
