Brand new Epson 2880 with Piezo pro inkjet carts won't print a test page or anything

Hi all, hope you can help. I’m just getting started with Piezo. I bought the Piezo pro inks and filled the carts correctly (I think). It is a brand new Epson 2880 - old printer, I know, but new in the box.
In the carts I have a clear breather hole. I tapped the carts. a couple of times.
still no nozzle check print. no ink is going through the printer. anyone have any suggestions of what might be wrong? thanks
