Bad Yellow channel - Make it a 6 channel glossy setup

I have an Epson 3800 with a bad black damper and have been printing Matte with it for years. I use the K7 Selenium ink set. Now the Yellow channel does not want to get a usable print pattern. I was thinking of switching it over to a glossy setup. I would think I can remap the PK channel to the MK channel and not use the yellow channel. I would have a 6 channel Gloss setup. I would think I can use a six channel gloss profile and remap the blacks. Anyone done this and can provide some options and guidance. I have the Piezography Professional Edition (PPE) software. Could this printer work as a 6 channel Piezo pro?

Thanks
John

That would work no problem

Walker, Is it possible to use a spray protector like Premier Print Shield as the de bronzer vs the GO

Thanks
John

yes,

this is actually what I do for small piezo prints with “legacy” K6/7/P2 ink sets.
