Almost Full Cone Color ink tank-however printer says Very Low

Hi Walker,

On 9900 Epson Stylus Pro with installed 9890 driver(as green ink is not functioning),

the VLM (VIVID LIGHT MAGENTA) says on the LED Panel, that it is "VERY LOW”,

Upon my visual inspection, it is almost totally FULL.

I am on MAC OS Ventura 13.6.9 ; the VLM ink is InkJet Mall’s Cone Color pro ink.

I have tried to make prints with the ‘VLM’as it is, and the color is particularly poor or ‘off’.

What do you recommend that I do? Looking for your advice.

Most often the color is troubling with this printer, occasionally it is superb but very infrequently.

This question will also be on the post at community.inkjetmall.com.

Thank you, very much,

a loyal appreciative ConeColor ink-user,

Columbia Fiero

There is no physical connection between an EPSON chip and the actual contents of the ink cartridge. A new cartridge and a new chip both read 100% full regardless how much ink if any is in the cartridge. Every time you clean and print the Status Monitor decreases the percentage remaining from the chip. At some point in the history of your printer the chip was probably not reset with the chip resetter to full when you filled the cart. You need to use your chip resetter.

You need check and see if a nozzle check shows all of your ink channels have ink otherwise your color will be off. I did not realize that you can drive the 9900 with the 9890 driver. You will need use 9890 ICC profiles rather than 9900 profiles…

hi Jon, As Walker emailed in reply, "Download and install the 9890 driver and use that. “ …he advised me of an option to download driver/ICC Profile, for my EPSON 9900 that will leave out the the green and orange- since they are not functioning well, and that it will still do good/great color without those two colors.
