Long time ConeColor customer…very pleased.
Recently, I’ve moved studios and after the move (probably due to sub-freezing temps in the moving truck) the magenta damper blew-up so I replaced the right four (K,C,M&Y).
Was get banding problems so I bought a gallon of PiezoFlush and carts. After several cleans and letting it set overnight, the auto patterns were perfect so I replaced the inks and the crappy patterns returned. So, I replaced the other 4 dampers and this has no effect.
Doing the pattern from the utility, the last two inks: LLK and LM are just terrible and I cannot clear them no matter how many times tried. Fair regular (now) about shaking the inks.
Completely lost and frustrated. Any ideas?
Trying to upload the pattern but the system won’t let me do it for the moment. The lines for the LLK and LM are mostly non-existent at the bottom of the pattern. Will try to upload again later.
Did you have a perfect nozzle check with the Piezoflush installed AFTER replacing ALL the dampers?
If the ink was frozen on transport, there is a possibility that is congealed in the lines, damper and/or head channels and caused the bad nozzle check. An additional Flush of your entire system AFTER you replaced the dampers is a good idea. Then verify a good Nozzle check & install fresh ink that was not subject to freezing in transport
After reviewing your order history, I see you bought the refill carts and bottled ink individually, starting back in 2008. Is this the same printer and carts that you’ve been using since then?
Have you manually cleaned the printer’s capping station, wiper blade, flushing box and/or bottom of the print head? If not, I recommend cleaning your printer, following our instructions, here: http://www.inkjetmall.com/tech/content.php?133-Printer-Cleaning-and-Preventative-Maintenance
Please let me know so I can try to help you get back to happily printing.
Best regards~ Dana
Hey Dana-
Really appreciate all your support over the years. Tried again to upload the image but still getting a 403 error so uploaded to my website instead. http://altproc.com/neill2001_081.jpg
Yes, this is the same printer. I have cleaned the capping station and wiper blade but will redo the cleaning per your procedure and update.
Still can’t upload images so from my site again
kct001 was taking after the cleaning of the lower head, cap and wiper. kct002 after the cleaning then a cleaning cycle and kct003 after a second cleaning cycle. Sorry about the LLK being washed out in the scans but notice the different patterns in the LM. It’s the same in the LLK. Not better, the patterns move around but the bottom is worse. Ideas?
After re-cleaning the wiper and caps with PiezoFlush, I got an almost perfect nozzle check except the entire magenta block was missing. Did a head cleaning and everything went back to the crappy pattern you see above. Re-cleaned wiper and caps…again, great but not perfect nozzle check, another head clean and back to square one. Focused on the wiper, another descent nozzle check, another head cleaning, another crappy nozzle check. Do you think I need to replace some parts?
I have attached your latest nozzle check for you below.
Based on your reports and nozzle checks, I would flush the print head using our PiezoFlush print head cleaning kit (you’ll need to disconnect the dampers, and flush the print head channels directly), since you have already replaced the LK, LC, LM and LLK dampers, and those positions look the worst (especially the last three). I would also replace the wiper blade and flushing box, which you can get from Compassmicro.com
If you continue having problems after cleaning the head and replacing the wiper and flushing box, then I would consider replacing the pump cap assembly.
