3880 ink exchange issue

My colour 3880 has been afflicted with the stuck ink exchange problem. I discovered the issue when I did a nozzle check. It was all good but no K, I weighed the carts and found that the MK is OK but PK is empty. I’m wondering how I might use this for P2. My understanding is that I will need to do an initial fill to get going again so I will need to put in a flush cart for the initial fill. After that I could put the empty PK cart back in.

Is it that simple? Does the ink exchange get stuck that way so that it is ok on one K but not the other?

Yeah, put an empty PK in the PK slot, PK in the Yellow slot, and then just do 3-4 power cleanings (no need to initial fill).
