3880 first Cone cartridge replacement, won't print

I bought a used Epson 3880, which worked great until I needed to replace the PK cartridge. I filled and installed a new Cone cartridge. It printed fine in the nozzle check. However, when I try to print a photo, it acts like it wants to print, but it stops. The screen says “Photo Black.” I have repeated the attempt several times. I removed the chip from the empty OEM cartridge and placed it under the chip on the Cone cartridge. It seems strange that it prints a good nozzle check but won’t print a photo.

hmm, seems to me that you need to switch to Matte Black on the printer and try the print.
